In Spring 2020 we will be transforming an empty unit in Priory Square Shopping Centre, Birmingham city centre, into a new non-profit space for art, shared working space, gatherings and screenings.
The space will be used for:
-
Co-working, for a nominal monthly fee
-
Birmingham’s only dedicated art library
-
Public House’s programme of discussions, screenings and events bringing international artists’ film and writing to the West Midlands
-
Individual hire in a centrally-located, fully accessible space
We are collaborating with local architects to design multifunctional furniture for the space that will enable us to open a new addition to Birmingham’s cultural landscape.
Public Houses have historically acted as unique social centres where people gather, debate, and relate to one another. We want to embody this in an inclusive way, becoming an ever-fluctuating space, encouraging relationships between collaboratively-led projects and the city and neighbourhoods that we live, work, and travel in.

We will be launching a Crowdfunder in early 2020 to help us with the initial costs of making all of this happen.
